Maintaining Your Well-Being During COVID-19

yoga class

During times of uncertainty, focusing on self-care and helping others can provide much-needed stability.

Self-care during the coronavirus pandemic includes focusing on things you can control instead of those you cannot. Below are some simple steps you can take to help you focus on wellness while you adjust to a new normal.

Get outside

Participating in outdoor activities is perfectly acceptable if you maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others. Going for a walk and playing in the yard with your children are great ways to incorporate physical activity into your new routine.

Take an online fitness class

Many fitness companies, personal trainers, and health organizations are making on-demand fitness classes available for free. If you’ve been curious about a class or want to get back into yoga, now is a great time to do it.

Have a virtual book club with friends

You can still connect with friends through virtual meetups. If you have a weekly gathering or book club meeting, use a video chatting service to connect with your group.

Talk to a counselor or therapist

It’s OK to reach out for help. LifeSolutions® offers counseling sessions that can be conducted virtually or over the phone.

Try new healthy recipes

Use this time to try new dishes and become more mindful of how you nurture your body. It is natural to stress eat or crave comfort foods right now, but being aware of what you’re eating can help you focus on your well-being.

Step away from the news

The news these days can be scary and overwhelming. Take time to meditate, read a book, or watch a movie instead of staying glued to the news—anything to help you unwind and separate your mind from stressors.

Life may feel very hard and stressful right now, but the pandemic will eventually end. In the meantime, try to take precautions that protect your health and well-being.

LifeSolutions has resources in place to help you feel better during this difficult time. Call us to make an appointment, or for information about the services that are available to help you thrive during COVID-19.
