Theresa Plance
Registered Nurse
I grew up locally, within 10 miles of PTC and I’m also raising my family in my hometown. I started my health care career as a medical assistant, obtaining my first degree at Penn Commercial Business/Technical School in Washington, PA. After working in various specialties including orthopedics in allergy/asthma for 10 years, I returned to school at West Penn Hospital School of Nursing. While caring for an infant and a toddler, I obtained my nursing diploma from West Penn Hospital as well as an associate degree in Healthcare Sciences from Clarion University. Upon graduation, I accepted a position in the pediatric unit of West Penn hospital, starting my journey to become Pittsburgh Technical College’s first student health nurse. PTC has a personal connection to me, having two siblings as alumni, and it is an honor to become part of this community and staff.
Monique McMillan
Certified Medical Assistant
In 2017, I became an instructor in the Medical Assisting program here at Pittsburgh Technical College. Prior to that, I was a medical assistant with UPMC for 14 years. Most of my experience was in internal medicine, but I also have experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, and ENT. When I moved from direct patient care to teaching, I brought with me my passion and love for medical assisting. I am happy to be here at the health center to help students navigate their health care needs. I am currently pursuing a degree in Health Information Management. I grew up in the Homewood area but have lived in several areas of the city before settling down in the Swissvale area with my family.
*Required diagnostic lab services will be billed to the student or their health insurance company.
